Smart and integrated control of building services (subcontract)

The coordinator of the project is VTT (Technical Research Centre of Finland) Building and Transport. HUT (Helsinki University of Technology) Control Engineering Laboratory is working as a subcontractor in the project.

The main goal of the project is to develop and test smart and learning methods in controlling the indoor conditions and building services system integration such that the new methods are suited for conversion and for renewing the buildings. The sub goal is to research the influence of sensor technology on controlling the building systems and to develop learning user-interfaces and control algorithms that control the indoor conditions. The developed methods and algorithms will be tested in pilot buildings. New service ideas will be developed on the basis of the results. The HUT control engineering laboratory is concentrating on developing and testing the utilization of sensors and control algorithms
